Connect with a login and password to keep your score. A login that doesn't exist yet becomes your account, with that password.
Play as guest to jump straight in. Type a nickname first if you like. Guest scores aren't saved.
Accounts work in the Windows client too.

Up on the ramp to accelerate. The faster you go, the higher you jump.
When you're high enough, Ctrl or Space opens your wings. Up dives (faster), Down slows you down, Left/Right turn.
Near the target, Ctrl/Space again to close your wings and drop onto it. Don't touch anything with your wings open!
